Issues: Veterans Agriculture and Food
U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock), a veteran and a farmer himself, yesterday met with Department of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue along with a bipartisan delegation from Congress to discuss the upcoming Farm Bill and potential measures to help connect veterans with careers in agriculture.
"One of the top issues in the industry is the decline in new farmers. We have to help our veterans find jobs and an industry that relies on discipline, dedication and passion to thrive is a natural fit. I look forward to addressing this topic during the upcoming Farm Bill," said Rep. Denham.
